Children and Teens
Does your child show social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties?Does he or she have trouble making or keeping friends?Do you think your child might be depressed?Does he or she seem sad and withdrawn? Is your child frequently frustrated, angry, or nervous?Does it seem that worrying is affecting school, play, or sleep?
As a parent it can be disconcerting to see your child struggling and feel like you have run out of ways to help. I bring over 20 years experience to working with children, teens and their parents. I have found that the first step in providing effective help is identifying what the source of the difficulty is. Once the origin of the problem is identified a treatment plan can be initiated that involves the child, the parents, and any outside parties that are involved, such as your child’s school or pediatrician.
Getting help for a child can seem daunting. Unfortunately, there is no “one size fits all” when it comes to children since needs will differ according to age and ability level as well as whether a child is sad, angry, worried, or having problems in school. You can be sure that as your child’s therapist I will work in partnership with you and your child to provide effective evidence-based treatments that remove obstacles that hinder growth and will instead find ways to encourage resiliency.
Areas of need that I work with include:
